Tigers Supporters Forum update

The June meeting of the Leicester Tigers Supporters Forum included a presentation from club partners Thomas Cook Sport on matchday travel packages.

Thomas Cook Sport have developed packages for accommodation around home games at Welford Road while also looking at options for supporter travel to away games in Europe.

Kylie Paramanis, partnerships manager at Thomas Cook Sport, asked forum members for feedback on travel to away games in the European Champions Cup, including the possibility of organising out-and-back single-day trips by air, weekend packages with accommodation or offers for independent travellers following their own plans.

The forum believed that single-day trips, with match ticket included in the price, could provide a point of difference alongside the packages organised by the Away Supporters Club with coach travel and accommodation. It was decided that Thomas Cook Sport would look into packages for selected pool fixtures and gauge interest from supporters through a pre-registration scheme with a link from the Tigers club website. It is hoped this could be organised as quickly as possible ahead of the announcement of fixture scheduling.

Tigers chief executive Simon Cohen also attended the forum to answer questions on player recruitment and retention, the coaching team structure and the proposed Granby Halls development.

Chris Rose, Tigers head of brand, reported that the next meeting of the forum would include a debate on its function and format led by its members as well as an update from the club during the pre-season period.

The Supporters’ Forum offers a platform for the club to hear from its family of fans. The group is always looking to introduce members from diverse groups with different backgrounds and experiences.
