Leinster heading for Welford Road

Figure image
Leicester Tigers will host 2009 European champions Leinster in the final warm-up fixture for next season - and admission is included in all 2010/11 season tickets.

Leinster will play at Welford Road on Saturday, August 28 (kick-off 3pm) in the first meeting of the clubs since the Heineken Cup Final last May.

Former Tigers second-rower Leo Cullen led Leinster to victory on that occasion at Murrayfield with a squad which included international stars Brian O’Driscoll, Gordon D’Arcy and Jamie Heaslip, plus ex-Tigers teammate Shane Jennings and Ireland’s new fly-half Jonathan Sexton.

Leinster are one step away from the chance to defend that European crown. After toppling Clermont Auvergne by a single point in an exciting quarter-final last weekend, they face a trip to Toulouse in the Heineken Cup semi-finals.

Tigers traditionally play a home pre-season fixture on the final weekend before the start of the new league season so this match will play a crucial part in the preparations of head coach Richard Cockerill and the playing squad ahead of the new campaign.

Admission to Tigers pre-season fixtures at Welford Road is included in season tickets for the 2010/11.

Season tickets are available now, priced from just £270 adult standing and £300 adult seating. Special prices are available for families, young adults/full-time students, juniors and supporters aged 65-plus.

For more information on season tickets, call the Tigers ticket office on 0844 856 1880, or download a season ticket pack from the official club website by clicking here.

Matchday ticket prices for Tigers versus Leinster will be announced soon.

Tickets are also now available for Welford Road’s first stadium concerts. James Morrison headlines on Thursday, July 15, and Will Young is top of the bill on Friday, July 16. Tickets are on general sale from Saturday (April 17), priced £32 standing, £35 seating, or £55/£60 if you book for both events.
