The 2024/25 season will once again see Leicester Tigers players out on loan at Championship, National One and University level.
Collaboration with clubs and universities, particularly Nottingham Rugby and Leicester Lions, is critical in developing the club’s Senior Academy players.
Providing additional playing opportunities for the next generation of Leicester senior squad members ensures their readiness for Gallagher Premiership, Investec Champions Cup and Premiership Rugby Cup duties and is also a central benefit of the club’s relationship with loan clubs.
Premiership-winning Tigers and England internationals Dan Cole, Freddie Steward and Harry Wells gained valuable experience from loan periods early in their career, while last season, emerging talents Finn Theobald-Thomas, Archie Vanes and Joseph Woodward spent time in the Championship and National One.
BUCS Super Rugby, the highest level of University rugby has gone from strength to strength in recent time and, in this season, there will be plenty of Leicester players playing midweek, starting with the opening round on Wednesday, September 25.
