Members of the Leicester Tigers Wheelchair Rugby team tried on their new 2019/20 home and away kits for the upcoming season, supported by club partner Häfele.
The new kit moves away from the club’s previous blue and white strip and mirrors the Tigers green, white and red colours with a unique ‘Tiger claw’ design on the front, alongside branding of Häfele and the Matt Hampson Foundation.
The team received their kits - which includes playing shirts, travel bags and training wear - at a recent training session, which is held weekly at the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre in the city centre.
Last year, the hafele-inspired-by-wheelchair-rugby-star">team’s chairman Rob Tarr visited staff at Häfele sharing his experiences as a special guest and more recently, representatives from organisations posed for a photo at Tigers Gallagher Premiership match against Saracens.
LTWR continue to lead the way as the sport’s current domestic champions having won back-to-back league titles as well as having a number of players and coaches involved with Team GB’s international set-up.
This season also sees the introduction of a second team, who finished runners up in their debut Division Three Super Series weekend in October. The seconds are next in action on the weekend of November 30 – December 1 away at Herschel Grammar School, Slough.
The first team will begin their defence of their title on home soil at the Morningside Arena, Leicester, (LE1 3UD) on January 11–12, 2020.
The second team will wrap up their season in their final Super Series Division Three weekend at Braunstone Leisure Centre, Leicester (LE3 1JN) on February 22, 2020.
Entry to both events is free and if you’d like to find out more about supporting or getting involved with LTWR, please contact [email protected]
