Lumbers Player of the Month voting now open

Voting is now open for the latest Lumbers Player of the Month award.

Dan Cole, Sione Kalamafoni and Logovi’i Mulipola are on the three-man shortlist for December’s award and fans can vote now on the Lumbers website by clicking here.

Cole played all but 17 minutes of the games during December. The England and British & Irish Lions prop was a cornerstone of the Tigers scrum, most notably in earning a penalty try  against Saracens.

Kalamafoni played every minute during December and continues to lead the way for Tigers in many of the OPTA Rugby Rankings. The No8 has made the second-highest number of carries in the Aviva Premiership, features high in the number of offloads and is Tigers’ top tackler.

Mulipola returned from injury at the start of December to produce some of his best form in the Tigers front row. The Samoa international was a part of a solid scrum, propping on both sides although he was mainly used as a loosehead, while his heavy-duty carrying was a welcome sight.

The trio will be aiming to follow this season’s previous winners of the Lumbers Player of the Month award Valentino Mapapalangi, Harry Wells, Jonny May and Telusa Veainu.

Supported by High Street jewellers Lumbers and voted for by Tigers supporters, the player of the month award recognises the contributions of individual players to the team cause throughout the campaign.

Established in 1881, Lumbers jewellers have been at the heart of Leicester for more than 135 years - just like the Tigers - and are the sponsors of the club’s monthly player of the month award.

The Lumbers team offers unparalleled service and knowledge for clients at their new premises in High Street, Leicester, with an extensive range of services including jewellery and watch repairs, valuations and engraving.
