Lutterworth RFC hosted another closely contested Prima Tigers Cup festival for under-10s teams on Sunday.

The Prima Tiger Cup, sponsored by Prima Solutions of Loughborough, is a free-to-enter contact-based tournament scheduled to run over five festivals covering the Tigers Academy region and beyond, with the opportunity to play at Welford Road in the later stages.

Teams from Barkers Butts, Buckingham, Coalville, Daventry, Hinckley, Keyworth, Leicester Forest, Kenilworth, Loughborough, Lutterworth, Market Bosworth, Market Harborough, Oadby Wyggestonian, Oakham, Old Leamingtonians, Shipston on Stour, Silhillians, South Leicester, Stoneygate and Vipers took part in the third festival of the season.

Old Leamingtonians and Market Harborough have been invited back to play in the Prima Tiger Cup qualifiers at Welford Road, while Shipston-on-Stour and Buckingham secured their places in the Prima Tiger Bowl qualifiers, also to be played at Welford Road, home of the Leicester Tigers.

Tigers full-back Scott Hamilton was on hand to watch the action and encourage all the teams, while team-mate Julian Salvi was also among the spectators.

With more than 70 entries each season, the Prima Tiger Cup is the largest and most prestigious single age-group competition in the rugby calendar. There are still places available in remaining festivals to be held at Mellish RFC this Sunday and Newmarket RFC (November 16).
