Leicester Tigers have named 11 international players in the matchday squad for Saturday's home fixture against Newcastle Falcons in the LV= Cup.

Victory in the Round 4 match would secure top spot in Pool 2 and give Tigers a place in the semi-finals of the cup competition for the first time since 2008.

Horacio Agulla, Anthony Allen and Jeremy Staunton return to the Tigers backline, and there are recalls for Marcos Ayerza, George Chuter, Julian White and Steve Mafi in the forward pack, plus Thomas Waldrom who has been released from England training this week.

Ben Woods, who led Tigers to victory at Harlequins in Round 3, will captain the team at Welford Road for the first time.

Craig Newby is included in the senior squad for the first time since leading the team in last season’s Aviva Premiership Final following his recovery from a knee injury, and fly-half Toby Flood is back in the matchday squad after a hamstring injury.

Director of rugby Richard Cockerill, who saw a young side win at Harlequins in Round 3 last weekend, is without four players on international duty with England and Martin Castrogiovanni is away with Italy. Billy Twelvetrees and Ed Slater are with England Saxons and George Ford is captaining the England Under-20s.

Visitors Newcastle can also still claim a semi-final place and enjoyed a 37-7 victory over Sale Sharks last week under new director of rugby Gary Gold. Falcons have announced the arrival of former Tigers captain and coach John Wells as part of their coaching team this week.

Saturday’s match is included in Tigers season tickets.

All other supporters can purchase tickets now from the Tigers ticket office. Phone 0844 856 1880, call in at Welford Road or book online. Or book match tickets at the Club Store in Market Street, Leicester.
