Manu getting better with each game, says O'Connor

Matt O’Connor says Manu Tuilagi is getting better with every game as he continues his comeback from injury.

Tuilagi made his third start since he returned from a three-month lay-off in the New Year’s Eve game against Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park.

The Leicester Tigers centre played 75 minutes of the Aviva Premiership defeat before being replaced by Joe Ford for the final few minutes.

Tigers head coach O’Connor said: “Manu is getting better and better.

“He has been unfortunate given the intensity of the games we have had in his comeback, but he is a world-class player and will get better every time he plays.

“He was fine when he came off. It was a heavy pitch. He did a lot of work, a lot of physical collisions. It was just trying to look after him as best we can.”

Tigers return to Welford Road this Saturday for the first fixture of 2018, when they take on London Irish in the Aviva Premiership.

The game is included on the Tigers season ticket and Half Season Tickets. Match tickets are on general sale. Book your place now by clicking below.
