For Leicester Tigers fans Matthew Lane and Joanne Boyce, there was a special wedding surprise in store on Saturday when a trio of Leicester Tigers favourites shared their big day.

Manu Tuilagi, Logovi’i Mulipola and Freddie Tuilagi provided the wedding surprise by calling in to offer their congratulations and meet guests at the party hosted at Old Newtonian RFC.

Season ticket holders Matthew and Joanne are well-known figures on the terrace at Welford Road, with Matthew receiving the club’s Fan of the Year Award in 2015/16 in recognition of his longstanding support of the club and for his work in organising fundraising for the family of former player Seru Rabeni.

“As a surprise for Joanne, I asked Freddie if he could get a couple of players to attend our reception,” says Matthew. “Freddie, Manu and Logo came along, they were great, having photos and greeting people. They all deserve credit.”
