Northampton Saints were victorious in the first derby day of the 2019/20 Gallagher Premiership season at Franklin's Gardens after a 23-point, 36-13 win over Leicester Tigers.
George Ford registered the first points of the match with the first of two successful penalty goal attempts from the Tigers fly-half, before the home side scored the first of three first-half tries in the 17th minute.
Tigers hit back through Guy Thompson after the back-rower forced his way over from close range on the end of an impressive driving maul deep inside Northampton's half.
However, it was all Saints from that point as they ran away with the game and finished with five tries to register a bonus-point win over Tigers in front of a sold out Franklin's Gardens crowd.
