Match preview: Saracens v Tigers

It's first versus third in the Aviva Premiership table when Saracens host Leicester Tigers at Allianz Park on Saturday (3.15pm).

League leaders Saracens are unbeaten this season while Tigers have lost just once in league and cup as two of the in-form sides in the country meet in Round 8 of the Aviva Premiership campaign.

“We’ve won 10 from 11 in the Premiership and European Champions Cup, and we think we have still got a lot of improvement to do performance-wise, which is a decent place to be,” said Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill.

“We were pretty sloppy in some of our work against Newcastle last week and clearly we have to improve on that against a very good Saracens side.

“Sarries are the current league champions, they’re unbeaten, they’ve been playing really well, the results have shown that. We have been pretty good too so let’s go there and play our game and see where we get to.

“We have to try to match them physically and in the set-piece. We have to play how Leicester play and try to impose our game on them.”

Tigers have been beaten on their two previous visits to Allianz Park, including a 22-6 defeat last season, while the teams have also drawn twice in their last seven meetings, once at Welford Road and once at Wembley Stadium.

The last win for a Tigers side away to Sarries was at their previous Vicarage Road home in Watford, when a last-gasp Geordan Murphy drop goal sealed a 20-19 victory in February 2012. Click here to re-live the details of that match.

Kick-off is at 3.15pm on Saturday. This game is scheduled for live TV broadcast by BT Sport. You can also keep in touch via the Tigers website and social media channels.

Tigers will be in the club’s home kit at Allianz Park this weekend.
