Almost 3,500 Tigers supporters used the matchday bus services run in conjunction with Arriva this season.

Arriva have operated matchday buses for every home game, whatever the kick-off time and day, arriving at Welford Road half an hour before kick-off and departing half an hour after the final whistle.

The T1-T5 routes start at Market Harborough, Oakham, Nuneaton, Market Bosworth and Coalville.

The T2 Oakham service alone ferried more than 1,000 Tigers supporters to and from Welford Road.

Chirs Rose, head of brand development at Leicester Tigers, said: “Arriva have been terrific in their support of the matchday bus routes and the supporters have enjoyed the freedom of coming into the city on public transport, using bus routes in the congested areas, and being dropped off and picked up at the door of the stadium.

“We know that support for the Tigers comes from a wide area and we are delighted that the routes have offered a convenient way for so many people to come to games, whatever the kick-off time.”
