Matchday guide: A big day of rugby at Welford Road

Leicester Tigers have a whole afternoon and evening of rugby lined up for supporters at Welford Road this Saturday.The Tigers return to home soil for a pre-season fixture against Loughborough University, and there is plenty of international rugby too with live coverage of World Cup fixtures throughout the afternoon – Samoa v Japan at 2.30pm, South Africa v Scotland at 4.45pm and finally England versus Australia on the big screens and TVs in Final Whistle at 8pm.   This pre-season fixture allows Richard Cockerill, Aaron Mauger and the coaching team to get more game-time into more members of the squad, with Jack Roberts hoping to push his claims after making his return to action as a second-half replacement at Newcastle last weekend, England Under-20s colleagues Charlie Beckett and Will Owen among those hoping to build on their pre-season and an exciting group of young prospects led by Paolo Odogwu and George Worth looking for an opportunity to run out at Welford Road.   Team news will be released on the Tigers website at lunchtime on Friday.   Saturday’s fixture is included in Tigers season tickets.   For all other supporters, match tickets are available now. Purchase in person at the Tigers Club Store at Welford Road or phone 0116 319 8888 (option 2) (9am-5pm weekdays and from 9am on matchday) or book online at the Tigers ticket office by clicking here.   The Ticket office on matchdays is based on the plaza outside the MET-Rx Stand.   There is a separate Ticket Collection point on the plaza for all pre-ordered tickets.   Turnstiles open at 2pm.   All bars and food kiosks are also open from 2pm. Click here for more information.   The Junior Tigers Club is open for two hours ahead of kick-off, with activities for young supporters, including a pre-match visit from a Tigers player. JTC has more than 40,000 members and you can sign up any supporter under the age of 16 at a home game or online now.
