Matchday guide: Tigers versus Bath this Sunday

Figure image
Leicester Tigers open 2015 with a home game against Bath Rugby in front of a sell-out Welford Road crowd on Sunday (2pm). Here is out guide to the big day:A bonus-point victory at Sale Sharks last weekend means Tigers go into the new year just two points outside the top-four places, while Bath sit second in the Aviva Premiership table.   Welford Road hosts a double header on Sunday with a National Academy League fixture between Tigers Under-18s and Sale Sharks to follow at 5pm.   All 24,000 tickets for Sunday have already been sold. The Collection Point for any pre-ordered tickets is on the plaza outside the MET-Rx Stand, not at the Tigers ticket office. Please allow plenty of time for ticket collections and to get to your places ahead of kick-off.   If you are still without a ticket you can check availability with StubHub. Or if you are a season ticket holder unable to attend, you can offer your place for re-sale through StubHub. Check this link now for more details.   If this is your first Tigers matchday – or you are bringing someone new – there is a chance to win a great prize. As part of the ‘My First Matchday’ you can sign up a first-time visitor at leicestertigers.com/myfirstmatchday or speak to a Games Keeper at the stadium on matchday and you will go into a prize draw to win a bag of Tigers goodies. First-time visitors can also pick up a My First Matchday certificate signed by club captain Ed Slater from Games Keepers who form part of the customer services team at Welford Road.   The Junior Tigers Club area in Final Whistle is open from midday with activities and competitions, including the opportunity to run out with Welford the mascot as a Tiger Cub. JTC membership is free and you can sign up on matchdays or click here to register on line on the club website.   Also, one young supporter will face the club mascot in Challenge Welford on the pitch at half-time.   There is a Big Boot double header too this weekend with one group chasing a jackpot prize  and a place on the season’s leaderboard, and then a second ‘royal’ edition featuring the Bishop of Leicester and a team of clergy in support of the Richard III Community Appeal and the CombatStress charity.   There is also a matchday collection for the Richard III Community Appeal around the stadium.    The Tigers Club Store is hosting its biggest-ever sale with special offers on kit, leisurewear and souvenirs. There is a pop-up shop on the plaza and extra merchandise units inside the MET-Rx Stand after the turnstiles are opened.   The 100-page match programme includes our favourite images from 2014, Matt Hampson’s Heroes & Villains column with Julian Salvi and all the news and views from inside Welford Road. The programme is on sale throughout the stadium, price £3.   Arriva’s special matchday bus services are in operation on five routes, from Market Bosworth, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, Oakham and Nuneaton, and there is also a minibus service from Coalville. This offer is open to current season ticket holders or to supporters taking a season ticket for the first time.   Season Ticket Tasters are also available now, guaranteeing admission to the last six home games of the regular season, including local derby matches in league and cup against Northampton Saints.
