Matchday guide: Tigers face Bristol

Leicester Tigers host Bristol Bears at Welford Road on Saturday (3.00pm) in Round 20 of the Gallagher Premiership season and we’ve got a big day in store. See all the details in our Matchday Guide below.

Team news from both camps is announced at noon on Friday on the Tigers website and official social media pages. Look out, too, for the match preview with all the facts and figures behind the big game.

Stadium turnstiles, bars and food kiosks open at 1.30pm and you can hear from inside the Tigers camp with a player Q&A in Final Whistle at 2.15pm.

Food options in the stadium include pie-and-a-pint in the Holland & Barrett concourse, Mattioli Woods Stand and Breedon Stand; and Domino’s Pizza in the Holland & Barrett Stand upper and lower. Chips are available in Holland & Barrett Stand lower and Robin Hood Stand. There are children’s food offers, too, at the Junior Tigers Club food unit in Final Whistle.

And look out for some special food offers after the game if you are staying with us.

You can save time at the bars by using Swipestation to pre-order drinks. SwipeStation provides a way to pre-order food and drink via your mobile device before collecting from a 'Fast Lane' at the bars. The latest update is version 4.8.0 and available to download now from the App Store. SwipeStation can be accessed via the Official Tigers App, which is also available to download for FREE from iTunes and Google Play App Stores.

Sign up to the Swipestation app, add your card details and you can place your order at any time – even before you leave home! When you get to the stadium, use your phone to print off the receipt at your nearest SwipeStation unit and simply present it to bar staff.

The plaza outside the Holland & Barrett Stand hosts our new Project Rugby Donation Point where supporters can drop off old, unused or unwanted kit and boots to help provide more equipment and clothing to aspiring rugby players in the community. for more information and to find out how you can help, click here.

Also on the plaza, Burleigh’s will be showcasing their Leicester Tigers gin and a special edition which benefits the Doddie Weir Foundation.

All supporters should note that bag searches are in place at the turnstiles. You are encouraged not to bring bags to the stadium but, if you do, please allow extra time to get through your turnstile and into your place ahead of kick-off.

In accordance with stadium regulations, banned items include bottles, cans, large golf-type umbrellas and any bags that will not fit beneath a seat. More information is available on boards at all turnstiles.

The Junior Tigers Club is open for two hours ahead of kick-off with games and events for young supporters, including Easter-themed activities this week. There is also a chance to win a FREE place as a matchday mascot and to score a try on the famous turf as one of Welford’s Tiger Cubs. Teams from junior clubs and schools in the region join us as Flag Wavers and Guard of Honour in the approach to kick-off.

This week’s 100-page match programme includes a 40th anniversary focus on Tigers’ John Player Cup heroes, plus Fanzone, Junior Tigers Club pages and the news from Welford Road. Pick up your copy around the stadium, price £3.

Players from that 1979 Cup-winning team will parade the silverware on the pitch at half-time and entertainment also includes The Ultimate Big Boot, the TigersLotto season ticket draw and the winner of the latest Lumbers Player of the Month.

It’s a big day too for the under-10s teams involved in the Prima Tiger Cup and they join us on the pitch at half-time for their presentations in front of a big matchday crowd.

At full-time, as well as live music with resident band Rock Bottom in Final Whistle Stay, there are other bars open around the ground. Watch highlights from the 1979 John Player Cup Final in the ABC and Crumbie Lounge bars, or meet some of the players in The Droglites Bar in the Mattioli Woods Stand. Or you can wind down in the Tiger Bar marquee on the Holland & Barrett Stand plaza.

The main club store and the ticket office will also remain open for an hour after the match.

Pre-booked car parking goes off-sale at the Tigers ticket office two days before a match. Parking is still available to purchase on a first-come first-served basis at the King Power Stadium, home of Leicester City FC, which is just a few minutes’ walk away from Welford Road. Cost is £6 per car, to be paid at the barrier.

Official matchday bus services run by Centrebus are in operation on routes from Market Bosworth, Market Harborough and Oakham, arriving at Welford Road half an hour ahead of kick-off and departing half an hour after the final whistle. If you are attending the game, don't forget to click 'Going' on the Tigers Facebook page and you can use the ‘Big Screen’ function on the Tigers app to submit photos of your matchday, with a selection of the best being shown on the stadium big screens.

There is a print-at-home option for tickets bought online. The collection point is on the plaza outside the Holland & Barrett Stand if you are picking up pre-paid match tickets on your way to the game.
