Matchday guide: Tigers versus Chiefs

Figure image
Leicester Tigers run out under Friday night lights this week for the Aviva Premiership Round 17 fixture against Exeter Chiefs. Kick-off is at 7.45pm. Here is our guide to what matchday has in store at Welford Road.

Successive victories over Gloucester, Bristol and Harlequins have kept Tigers hot on the trail of places in the top four in the table, while the Chiefs have moved into second place as they look to go one better than last year’s appearance in the Aviva Premiership Final.

Match tickets are on sale at the Tigers ticket office now.

The ticket office is open 9am-5pm Monday-Saturday. Book in person at Welford Road or phone 0116 319 8888 (option 2). Or click here to book online any time. There is a print-at-home option for all tickets bought online or you can collect on your way to the game.

The Tigers Club Store will be open from 9am on matchday.

We are organising a special Movie Night in the Junior Tigers Club this week as well as the usual activities for young supporters and an opportunity to run out in front of a big home crowd as a matchday mascot or Tiger Cub. The JTC area is open from 5.45pm and there will be a player appearance in the approach to kick-off.

As Friday’s game is an evening kick-off, upgrades on junior tickets are available. If you hold season tickets for under-10s or juniors, or for children as part of a Tigers family season ticket, the club will exchange these for adult tickets free of charge so you can enjoy the match with family and friends if kick-off is too late for younger members. Please note any upgrades will require the issue of a new paper ticket. Click here for more details or contact the Tigers ticket office.

Turnstiles, and all internal bars and food kiosks at Welford Road open at 6.15pm.

Supporters can enjoy speciality coffee and handmade doughnuts at 96 Coffee By Numbers in Final Whistle owned by Tom Croft and Ben Youngs. Doughnut flavours change each week and the bar is open before, during and after the game.

Welford Road hosts Land Rover’s owners’ hospitality area ahead of the game this week. This will be open from 5.45pm in the build-up to the game, serving each guest a complimentary gourmet burger and soft drink or tea and coffee. Click here to find out more.

Friday sees the launch of our fundraising campaign in support of the Leicester Tigers Foundation with Comic Relief. There will be bucket collections around the stadium, or the chance to donate via text or the justgiving website page. Click here for more details or to make a donation.

Team news from both camps is announced at noon on Thursday. Look out for updates on the Tigers club website and social media channels.

The 100-page match programme this week includes an interview with Dom Barrow after captaining Tigers to Aviva Premiership victory at Harlequins last weekend plus the Tigers Teabreak chat with Freddie Burns and Telusa Veainu, and all the news from Welford Road. Pick up your copy around the stadium, price £3.

A Fan Radio service is available at Welford Road featuring referee microphone and match commentary. Units cost £15 and will operate for the rest of this season and 2017/18. Buy your set in the Club Store or shop kiosks around the stadium.

Half-time entertainment also includes The Ultimate Big Boot and we will also reveal the name of the winner in our season ticket holder draw in the TigersLotto and the Lumbers Player of the Month winner for February from a shortlist of Pat Cilliers, Luke Hamilton and Jack Roberts.

Official matchday bus services run by Centrebus are in operation on routes from Market Bosworth, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray and Oakham. There is also a separate supporters’ bus available from Rugby and Lutterworth. For more information on Tigers travel, and this week’s timetable, please click here.

There is live music from Rock Bottom in final whistle after the Tigers game, while the ticket office and club store will remain open for an hour after the match.

Tickets for Friday and for next home game, against Newcastle Falcons on April 15, are on general sale to all supporters and can be booked at the ticket office now.

If you are picking up any pre-paid match tickets on your way to Friday’s game, the Collection Point is based on the plaza outside main reception.

If you are attending the game, don't forget to click 'Going' on the Tigers Facebook page and you could be in line for a fabulous prize.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday!
