Matchday guide | Tigers versus Sharks

Leicester Tigers and Sale Sharks meet in a traditional Saturday afternoon kick-off this weekend, though Welford Road matchday will look very different in the face of COVID-19 restrictions.

Kick-off at Welford Road is at 3.00pm and there are a number of ways to keep in touch with the action even though the game is being played behind closed doors.

There is live coverage on BT Sport, while Tigers season ticket holders who do not have a subscription can obtain a free BT Sport Match Pass to follow all the action from home games. Please note you will have to register ahead of the game and will then receive your match code before kick-off.

You can also follow minute-by-minute reports with the Matchday Live service on the Tigers app, plus updates on the club’s social media pages, with full review after the final whistle.

Welford Road remains closed with fixtures currently being played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic and supporters are urged to not visit the stadium as the club is working hard to keep everyone safe within the national guidelines in preparation for welcoming crowds back as soon as possible.

Opening the doors to supporters does, though, take a step forward in the Gallagher Premiership this weekend as Harlequins and Bath meet on Saturday in the first game open to fans since the suspension of the season back in March.

Voting for Tigers' LeoVegas Fans’ Favourite opens at half-time using the club App. Simply click on the tab in the Tigers App during the second half and the winner will be announced at full-time. Click here to find out ore about the free app.

The Tigers match programme is available in digital format as part of matchday. The link will be sent by email to season ticket holders in advance and then added to the club website. This week’s edition includes background on Sydney University RFC, previous home of Tigers assistant coach Rob Taylor and players Harry Potter and Guy Porter as well as rugby legends including Pat Howard and World Cup winner Nick Farr-Jones.

If you are wearing your club colours on matchday, you can share your photos of #TigersAtHome with other supporters on the club’s social media pages until we can all be together again at Welford Road.

Please note that the Tigers Club Shop and the ticket office at Welford Road are currently closed on home matchdays. Online services are available.

Find out more about how matchday operates behind closed doors with a series dedicated to 'New Matchday' on the Tigers website.
