Matchday Reporter wanted for JTC Takeover Day

Figure image
Put pen to paper this weekend and you could be our JTC Matchday Reporter for 'Junior Tigers Club Takeover Day' at Welford Road on Sunday, March 4.

The winner of this week’s competition to find our JTC Matchday Reporter will have a seat in the press box at Welford Road for the Leicester Tigers match against Gloucester Rugby in the Aviva Premiership. They can watch reporters and commentators at work while taking their own notes and will have their match report published on the Tigers club website.

The lucky reporter will also win match tickets for an additional two adults and two children for the rest of their family to share in the big day.

To enter this great competition, this is what you have to do:
• Write a match report (minimum 200 words) from a sporting fixture of your choice this weekend. It could be Saracens versus Tigers, your own junior team’s fixture, a football match, or any other game you watch.
• Include the fixture details and start time in your entry
• Please include JTC membership name, age, a parent’s contact telephone number and a photo of the entrant.

All entries should be emailed to [email protected]

Deadline for entries is 9am on Monday (February 20) and the winner will be notified on Wednesday next week.

For the match against Gloucester on March 4 we’re giving our Junior Tigers the chance to take over behind the scenes, including:
• Matchday Announcer
• Junior Reporter
LTTV interviewer
• Poster & Splash Page Designer
• Programme Designer

We’re also going to draw the names of 50 Junior Tigers to join a lap of honour and parade the JTC flag, and there is a draw to choose a matchday mascot just half an hour before leading the players on to the pitch.

There are lots of ways to get involved, including some great competitions.

Our Week 1 competition was to produce a poster for the game. The winning entry came from Natalie Freestone and her poster of Welford the mascot is already on display around the stadium and on the club website.

Samuel Shackleton, age 11, won the competition to become programme designer, and 15-year-old Sam Doherty will join us as Matchday Announcer.

‘JTC Takeover Day’ competitions are open only to JTC members. Club membership is free and comes with some great goodies, including admission to the VIP area on Welford Road matchdays. Join now by clicking here.
