All Black centre Mauger is included in the Tigers squad for the first rugby match at the new Cardiff City Stadium after recovering from injury.
He is joined by the England Elite Player Squad members who missed last weekend’s game away to Nottingham.
Head coach Richard Cockerill is also set to give game time to France international Nicolas Jeanjean, who has been on trial with Tigers.
Cockerill said: “It will be a good rehearsal for us. Our preparation will be the same as when we play Sale.
“It is Cardiff’s first game in their new stadium and they will put up a good team and give us a good battle. Cardiff are a great side and Dai Young has done a great job there.”
Former Tigers prop Darren Morris is included in the Cardiff squad for the game after moving to the Welsh side from Worcester in the summer.
Young said: “These friendly games are important to us. We were determined to have two very strong matches as that gives us a truer reflection of where we are.”
