Moody enjoys try-scoring return for Tigers

Lewis Moody says it is an awesome feeling to score at Welford Road after he grabbed his second try of the season in Leicester Tigers' 39-6 Guinness Premiership win over Leeds Carnegie.

Moody, who was returning from international duty with England, swooped on a knock-on and ran in from halfway for the fifth and final try of Saturday's game.

It followed his match-winning try against Worcester Warriors in October, and Moody said: “It is awesome to score at Welford Road. That is two tries in six games and I am just loving every minute of it.

“I could hear Alesana (Tuilagi) calling and I was waiting for the cover defence to come across and I was going to float it out to him to run in but everyone sort of disappeared and I kept going.”

Moody added: “We said at the start of the week that it was a big month for us and we needed to start it with a good performance. I think we did that.

“We kept concentrating and kept the pressure on and it paid off and to score five tries is great.”

Tigers are next in action at Welford Road when Clermont Auvergne are the visitors to Welford Road in the Heineken Cup on Saturday, December 19. Secure your seats now by visiting the Welford Road ticket office, calling 0844 856 1880 or clicking here.
