Lewis Moody and Ben Kay have been named in the matchday 22 by England for the opening game of the RBS 6 Nations, against Wales on Saturday.

The 29-year-old Moody wins his 53rd after being named in the back row alongside James Haskell and debutant Luke Narraway. Moody will play on the openside flank.

Kay, who also has 53 caps and has played  in two successive World Cup Finals with England, is named among the replacements.

Lock Louis Deacon (groin strain) and back row Tom Croft (shoulder) were not considered due to injury, and hooker George Chuter has missed out on selection as Mark Regan continues in the No2 shirt, with Bath’s Lee Mears chosen on the bench.
