Leicester Tigers are set to host more great live music this summer with Stonepark playing Tigers in the Park.

Welford Road last weekend welcomed the likes of Tinie Tempah, Professor Green and Katy B and Billy Ocean, UB40 and Kool in the Gang for the Leicester Music Festival.

Now Leicester band Stonepark, who have supported the likes of Ocean Colour Scene and James Morrison, have been confirmed on the bill for Tigers in the Park on Saturday, September 6.

The Fallers, who played at the Simons Says Festival at Leicester’s De Montfort Hall, are also on the bill along with Chris Armson, who performed at last season’s Tigers in the Park, and The Zufflers, a rock covers band from Leicester.

Held at Welford Road and on Nelson Mandela Park opposite the stadium, Tigers in the Park is a FREE community event that celebrates the opening of the new Aviva Premiership season.

Leading BMX freestyler Matti Hemmings has already been confirmed as one of the Tigers in the Park performers.

Matti holds the Guinness World Record for the most cliff-hanger spins with one foot on the handle bars in one minute. He also holds the record for most Death Truck Spins in a minute, which he achieved live on the BBC’s popular children’s show Blue Peter.

Now in its fourth year, Tigers in the Park offers live music, a fan zone and visits from some of the Tigers squad as well as inflatables, face-painting and an appearance by the Tigers Wheelchair Team.

It starts at 10am and finishes at kick-off against Newcastle Falcons at 3pm.

More acts and attractions are still to be confirmed.

The event is FREE but supporters will need a ticket to enter the stadium to watch the match. Tickets are priced  from £18 adults and £8 for juniors and are on sale now from the Welford Road ticket office, on 0844 856 1880 and online by clicking here. Match tickets are currently on sale to season ticket holders and members and go on general sale at 8.30am Thursday.

The game, as with all regular season games in the Aviva Premiership and pool games in the new European Rugby Champions Cup and LV= Cup, is included in a Tigers season ticket. The only way to guarantee the best seats for all Tigers' home games in the coming season – and to enjoy 18 games for the price of 12 – is with a Tigers season ticket. Click here for details.
