More music at Welford Road's Relay for Life

Live music will accompany Cancer Research UK's 24-hour Relay For Life at Welford Road on the weekend of May 23/24.

Last year the event raised more than £55,000 with teams being sponsored for walking or jogging laps of the Tigers pitch for a full 24-hour period.

This year’s event promises to be even bigger and even better with live music to suit all tastes throughout, as well as entertainment, children’s attractions, refreshments and the moving Candle of Hope ceremony in the evening.

Relay for Life places a special emphasis on raising awareness of cancer and offering advice on healthy living, eating and exercise.

Enter a team now and have some great fun at the home of Leicester Tiger while also raising money for a fantastic cause.

Paula Robertson, of Relay For Life Leicester, said: “We had some great feedback from everyone involved last year and the music was particularly popular so we have decided to add even more live bands, singers and performers to the programme this time.

“Relay for Life Leicester is being held to raise awareness of cancer and the work of Cancer Research UK, and to celebrate the courage and strength of cancer survivors and their families and friends.”

You can enter a team (ideally with 8-15 members) now.
