Leicester Tigers supporters have helped to raise £30,695 to support rugby legend Doddie Weir's 'My Name’5 Doddie' Foundation.

The club welcomed rugby legend Doddie Weir to Welford Road for Tigers home victory over Newcastle Falcons in the Gallagher Premiership.

The money was raised through proceeds from last season's 125 Welford Road Year Dinner held at the stadium and will go towards supporting the work of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

Tigers Chairman Peter Tom and former Tiger, England and British Lion Tom Croft presented Doddie, who last year revealed he was battling Motor Neuron Disease, with a cheque during half-time, which will aid the research into the causes of the condition which progressively damages the nervous system.

More than 600 guests attended the 125 Welford Road Year Dinner celebrating Welford Road’s history and Doddie recorded a special thank you to all the fans on the night. Watch below.
