Logovi’i Mulipola is looking forward to a huge summer with Samoa as they target World Cup qualification and Pacific Nations Cup success.

Mulipola has been recalled by Samoa for Pacific Islands fixtures with hosts Fiji (June 9) and Tonga (June 16). Both games are being played at the ANZ National Stadium in Suva.

Samoa end their summer against the winners of Germany and Portugal, who meet on June 16, in home and away World Cup qualifying fixtures in June and July. The qualifiers begin on June 30 with the second leg scheduled for July 14.

And Leicester Tigers prop Mulipola says it is a huge period for Samoa.

“I am looking forward to the summer with Samoa,” said Mulipola, who has been picked by his country for the first time since 2016 in what is his final season at Welford Road before he moves to Newcastle Falcons.

“It’s been a long time since I played for Samoa. We have some very big games. We play against Fiji and Tonga, which will be very physical, and then we have a World Cup qualifier.

“We have got to qualify for the World Cup. It’s the biggest tournament in your career. We have to bring everything we have got because there is no second chance.”
