The match was to have been played this Sunday, but organisers are hoping the postponement will allow a bumper crowd to enjoy the prospect of better weather later in the summer.
The match will feature a Leicester Tigers XI led by fly-half Andy Goode against a Sporting All Stars side featuring players from the world of cricket and football, including former Leicester City captain Matt Elliott.
Goode, a batsman good enough to captain Warwickshire Schools before concentrating on his rugby, said: "The Tigers guys are looking forward to it, though we might have to sneak a few extra fielders on! It should be a fun day for everyone, Rothley Park is a nice venue and we hope to raise a lot of money for Matt."
As well as the cricket, there will be entertainment from ska-reggae band Ska-Amanga, plus barbeques, bars and a bouncy castle. Proceeds from the game will be split between the Matt Hampson Trust and Rothley Park's junior cricket development.
