Newmarket RFC hosted the fifth and final Prima Tiger Cup festival of the season on Sunday.Supported by Prima Solutions of Loughborough, the Prima Tiger Cup is a free-to-enter tournament for under-10s teams and this season’s festivals have attracted 60 teams.
Teams representing Holt, Newmarket, Olney, St Neots, Stowmarket and Wisbech took part in the festival on Sunday.
The teams at Newmarket were also joined by Leicester Tigers prop Aniseko Sio who watched the games and cheered on the young players before joining them for their team photos.
Holt RFC have been invited back to play in the Prima Tiger Cup qualifiers, while Olney RFC will play in the Prima Tiger Bowl qualifiers, both to be played at Welford Road on the same day as a Tigers first-team game later in the season.
The Prima tournament features five qualifying festivals around the Tigers region, at Tamworth RFC, Swaffham RFC, Lutterworth RFC, Mellish RFC and Newmarket RFC.
