After opening the pre-season in France, Leicester Tigers are in action a lot closer to home when they face Nottingham at Meadow Lane on Saturday.
Nottingham enjoyed an excellent season in finishing fourth in National League One last year and are now putting the finishing touches to preparations for their campaign in the new-look Championship for 2009/10.
The two clubs have enjoyed close links for many years and Nottingham will be preparing a warm welcome for hooker Joe Duffy who spent five years with the club before joining Tigers this summer.
Prop Robbie Harris also played at Nottingham before moving on to Tigers, while Matt Smith made a big impression during a loan spell at Meadow Lane before making his big breakthrough with the Guinness Premiership champions last season.
