Leicester Tigers are saddened to learn of the death of former player Brian Smith, aged 84.
Born in July 1935, Brian scored 19 tries in 54 first-team appearances as wing or centre for Tigers between 1954-60 alongside club stalwarts David Matthews, Colin Martin, Rex Skelton and John Elders.
Awarded an OBE in 2006 for services to charity, he is also a past president of Leicestershire County Cricket Club.
The family will have a private funeral service but are also planning a memorial service at Oakham School in the Spring.
The club passes its condolences to friends and family at this time.
