Olowofela shares in Trophy Final win

Leicester Tigers development squad player Ryan Olowofela was part of the England squad in the first tournament of the 2017 Rugby Europe Sevens Grand Prix Series which took place in Moscow over the weekend.

England secured the Challenge Trophy and ninth place after beating Wales 21-17 in their final fixture.
 
They found themselves in the Challenge Trophy contest after finishing third in their pool on day one of the tournament after a win over Belgium (19-10) but defeats to Portugal (10-29) and France (21-26). In the Trophy semi-final, England beat Poland 24-10 before overcoming Wales in their final. 
 
England fielded a youthful side, with coach Simon Amor seeing an opportunity to identify the next generation to come through the England Sevens pathway.


The next stages of the Rugby Europe Sevens Grand Prix Series take place in Lodz, Poland, next weekend and then in Clermont-Ferrand and Exeter.
