Five players from Leicester Tigers’ Global Partner Club RC DIOK helped the Netherlands to a 50-3 win over Lithuania in their final 2019 Rugby Europe Trophy match on Saturday.

The competition, which sits two divisions below the Six Nations, sees international sides promoted and relegated between levels throughout the season.

Georgia were named the champion of the 2018/19 season topping the table in the division above the Championship, or unofficially as the Six Nations B.

The Netherlands won four of their five matches losing just one game to Portugal who topped the pool.

RC DIOK captain Ross Bennie-Coulson and club-mates Robin Moenen, Illie Greeve, Jake Stamenkovich and Mees van Oord all represented their country in the last-round game, with Greeve successfully kicking five conversions.

Elsewhere, three further players – Tom Altink, Leon Koenen and Thom de Ruijters – took part in the 2019 Men Sevens Conference in Belgrade, finishing fifth overall.
