Leicester Tigers partners Lumbers are celebrating after being crowned UK Independent Jewellery Retailer of the Year.
Leicester-based Lumbers, who sponsor Tigers’ player of the month award during the season, won the jewellery industry’s premier award at a glittering ceremony held at the Artillery Rooms, London.
Lumbers were also finalists for Marketing Campaign of the Year working in collaboration with VOLIÀ by Maddison Rose and the Immerse Yourself in Lumbers advertising strategy.
Managing director Dominic Gomersall said: “We’ve worked so hard since the move from the old shop and we, as a team, deserve this recognition.
“It was humbling to hear repeatedly, from all the judges, how easy their decision was and how they voted unanimously for us.”
It is the latest award for Lumbers since their move to their new High Street store in the centre of Leicester.
Lumbers were selected as The National Association of Jewellers Retailer of the Year and, on a local level, have been recognised as Retailer of the Year through the Niche Business Awards.
Lumbers was recognised as a company that has made a positive contribution to the local community in the Leicester Mercury Business Awards and was named Regional Winner for Inspiring Independents 2017 while Mr Gomersall was crowned Entrepreneur of the Year at Retail Jeweller Inspiring Independents.
He added: “We are extremely proud of this award and nomination, especially after winning the same prestigious Retailer of the Year award back in 2003. We plan to ensure Lumber stays at the top spot in future years.”
