Laurence Pearce praised a "big team effort" in attack and defence as Tigers made it three wins out of three games in the LV= Cup with a 17-8 victory over Northampton Saints on Saturday.Tigers No8 Pearce scored his first try for the club as Tigers remained in top spot in the pool with one game remaining, away to Cardiff Blues this weekend.
“There were some errors and we let ourselves down with some of our execution, but when it mattered our defence was unbelievable,” he said.
“We really stuck in together and dug deep.
“And the tries came through team play, little breaks from players then backing it up and it was all just one big team effort really.”
Pearce was among a group of players making the most of gametime in a Tigers shirt in the competition, and now he wants more, starting at Cardiff this weekend.
“It’s good for me and all the guys, it brings depth in the squad and it helps us in training as well,” he said.
“The boys that haven’t had a chance in the Aviva Premiership really want to give everything.”
