Post-match chat: Brendon O'Connor

Brendon O'Connor admitted he will "miss" the opportunity to play rugby at Welford Road when the New Zealander spoke to LTTV on the pitch following his final appearance for the club in the Round 22 fixture against Bath Rugby.

O'Connor made his debut for Leicester Tigers in 2015 and went on to make 73 appearances, including 60 in the starting side, over four seasons.

"It was always a treat to play here ... I'm going to miss it," O'Connor said.

The Kiwi flanker signed off in the same style that he began his Tigers career, when he crossed for a try on debut against Stade Francais and a try in last weekend's Premiership fixture against Leicester's long-time rival - his 11th for the club, taking his points contribution to more than 50 from the back-row.

O'Connor departs a fan favourite after an impressive showing throughout his four seasons with the club and one of 18 senior squad members to say farewell this summer ahead of the 2019/20 season.

His fellow countryman and flanker Jordan Taufua will make the move to the East Midlands following the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan to join the likes of Guy Thompson, Tommy Reffell, Sione Kalamafoni, Dave Denton and Sam Lewis as options for Tigers head coach Geordan Murphy to choose from in the back-row next season.
