Will Spencer says honest discussions about what playing for Leicester Tigers at Welford Road means to the current squad helped drive the side towards victory over Newcastle Falcons to register the first win of the 2018/19 season earlier today.
Speaking to LTTV in the dressing rooms following the match, Spencer admitted their had been chats throughout the week about the importance of "putting in a performance" the group could be proud of.
"We spoke a lot this week about putting in a performance back at Welford Road and spoke about what this place means to us as players."

While visibly happy to have not only registered the win but made his Premiership debut at the historic venue, Spencer was quick to acknowledge that there is a big challenge away from home next week against Wasps and plenty to improve upon despite crossing for five tries.
"We'll enjoy it but we'll learn from it," he said.
"We have to back it up, it's no good having one week on and one week off."
Spencer also shared his thoughts on Mike Williams after his move from the back-row to the second-row for today's game, the rollercoaster week for the Tigers Family and the improved performance from the Tigers forward pack today in delivering the star-studded backline front-foot ball to execute on.
