Leicester Tigers will travel to the Channel Islands as part of the preparations for the 2021/22 season to take on Championship Club Jersey Reds in a pre-season fixture.

The match against the Reds will be played at Stade Santander on Friday, August 27 (kick-off 5.00pm).

It will be the third meeting between the clubs, with Leicester Tigers having visited in August of 2012 and 2013.

Speaking about the pre-season fixture, Leicester Tigers head coach Steve Borthwick said: "We are looking forward to the opportunity to take on Jersey Reds next pre-season and grateful to the club for hosting Leicester Tigers."

"It will be a great experience for our group and we are excited for the chance to visit Jersey and the Channel Islands community."

Jersey Reds Director of Rugby Harvey Biljon added: “It’s fantastic to have Leicester Tigers lined up for later this summer.”

"It will be a very tough test for our squad a few weeks before league action starts, but I’m sure the players will learn a great deal from playing against such high-calibre opposition.”
