Presentation to landmark appearance makers

Presentations marking 200 senior appearances for Leicester Tigers were made to Ben Youngs and Matt Smith at the final whistle of Saturday's win against Newcastle Falcons.

Both sons of former Tigers players and both graduates from the Tigers academy, Youngs and Smith have shared in four Premiership title wins and have both made a significant impact as first-team players over a decade of service with the club.

Smith made his Tigers debut as a 20-year-old in March 2006 and made it to the 200-appearance mark in the Anglo-Welsh Cup Final win against Exeter Chiefs last month.

Youngs was just 17 years old when he made his debut in February 2007 and his 200th game was against Bath at Twickenham in April 2017.

Players from both teams stayed on the pitch at the end of Saturday’s game for the presentation of engraved silver picture frames from Lumbers Jewellers to acknowledge the pair’s achievements in front of a 23,000-strong crowd art Welford Road.

Congratulations to both players on a magnificent achievement.
