Quad Nations hits Leicester this weekend

The Leicester Arena welcomes teams from four continents as Great Britain take on the world’s best in this weekend’s inaugural Quad Nations tournament.

Four players from this season’s league-winning Leicester Tigers wheelchair rugby team have been selected to represent Great Britain as they welcome the world’s best players to their home venue.

Tickets for the weekend’s action are still available starting from just £5 and Tigers fans can take advantage of a special family ticket for four people to see all four teams in action on the Saturday afternoon (March 10) for just £10.

Last week, LTTV caught up with members of the wheelchair team including Nick Cummins, who is one of the four to be selected for Great Britain.

Ahead of the weekend, Nick said: “To have the Quad Nations here in Leicester is huge. I’ve been hearing more and more from people that Leicester is the home of wheelchair rugby, it’s a massive event with the world’s eyes on us so we can’t wait.

“It’s great to have such a strong representation from the Tigers team too. We’ve played together all season and there’s a fair bit of crossover in terms of the training and plays we do with Tigers and Great Britain, so hopefully we can continue to play well together.

To have the three best teams in the world here in our patch is a privilege and I’m sure we’ll relish the challenge come the weekend.”
