Leicester Tigers back-rower Hanro Liebenberg says, while the result against London Irish was one to celebrate, the squad's immediate focus following the match was on what can be improved.
Speaking after the bonus-point, 47-28 win over The Exiles at Mattioli Woods Welford Road, the 26-year-old pointed towards the want from the entire group to continue to work hard, together, as a group.
"We spoke after the game and talked about the fact we are a good team, we have worked hard to be where we are, but we can be much better," said Liebenberg.
"Today's result really sums it up. We played some good rugby but there is a lot we could and should have been better at today, there is a lot to take away and improve on from this result.
"It is easy to get complacent, which will get you in trouble, and I believe it's a positive thing that nobody at Leicester Tigers has any mindset except on how to improve."
Five of Leicester's seven tries were scored by backs in the Round 20 win, with Tommy Reffell and a driving maul including almost the entire 15 on the pitch picking up the other with a penalty-try in the first-half.
"Everyone has been working incredibly hard to move us forward, to improve, so that when the international boys return they can see what we have been doing and come back into an environment which is better"
Tigers forwards have scored almost half of the club's tries in all competitions so far during the 21/22 campaign, including four from Liebenberg, but the back-rower says the goal is for those in the pack to put it on a platter for their team-mates out wide.
"We work hard as a forward pack week in, week out, to try and provide a platform for our backs to get across the line," he said.
"We have not always done that this season and - at times today - we didn't do enough, but when we did, it was great to see the hard work paying off for the boys out wide to score tries.
"When we create opportunities, we want to be capitalising on that as a team."
As well as a forwards pack and backline working together this season, the Tigers have enjoyed an incredible effort from the 24th team member in the stands - Leicester supporters - at Mattioli Woods Welford Road and on the road.
When asked about another huge turnout for at Tigers HQ, Liebenberg said: "Was it almost 20,000 again today?"
"It is incredible, at home and when we travel away, to have the support we do.
"When Irish scored early on today, in both halves, you could feel that lift from the stands and it is so helpful, it gives us a bit extra and we are grateful to have that.
"They turn up for us each week, so that's what we want to be doing as well - we want to make Leicester Tigers fans proud of us every time we represent then on the pitch."
With club-captain Ellis Genge away with England Rugby for the 2022 Six Nations, Liebenberg has had the opportunity to lead the club on a handful of occasions and admits it is not something he takes for granted.
"I've had a few opportunities now and I don't think it has ever really sunk in what a privilege it is," Liebenberg said.
"I love leading out this group of boys and the chance to do it while Ellis [Genge] is away representing England has been one I have enjoyed very much.
"We are blessed with a group of great leaders and a squad where everyone has a voice, so it is only different by having that 'C' next to your name and made easier with the players we have in this squad."
With the league season now on hold for a week with the next round of the Premiership Rugby Cup seeing Leicester travel to Newcastle to face the Falcons on Friday night, there is set to be changes to the matchday squad after Steve Borthwick pointed towards an opportunity for those who have not featured as much during the run of seven straight Premiership games.
However, with a handful of players expected to remain with England ahead of their final Six Nations game, it looks set to be the younger members of the Leicester playing group who will be called upon with depth already stretched following a gruelling run of games.
But, according to Liebenberg, whoever is included will approach the opportunity represent the club with the same mindset of seeing the club take steps forward.
"It has been a challenging period, with guys unavailable and so many away with England," said the Tigers back-rower.
"Everyone has been working incredibly hard to move us forward, to improve, so that when the international boys return they can see what we have been doing and come back into an environment which is better.
"The Premiership Cup gives some younger guys, and others who haven't had the chance to play, an opportunity.
"That's what we want, what we need; the competitiveness at training to make us a better team.
"It isn't about having a rest or enjoying a break, it is about how we make the most of next week as a squad to be better."
