Leicester Tigers head coach, Dan McKellar has reacted to Tigers 40-22 win against Exeter Chiefs.

Tigers closed out their 2023/24 league campaign with a gutsy win, McKellar’s side showing positive signs with ball-in-hand heading into preseason.

“It’s great to finish like that for our supporters,” McKellar said.

“I think we saw elements of the team we want to be there. Our turnover attack there, our intent to shift the ball was excellent and we backed that up with a lot of fight.

“They obviously had everything to play for so to turn up as we did, said a lot about the type of character we have here.

“We’re clear on where we need to improve but a result like that will give us momentum as a group and we can enjoy some time together now and some time away, understanding that we’re going to bounce into Oval Park on July 1 ready to get better.”
