Brett Deacon admitted his overwhelming emotion come full-time on Tuesday night was one of pride.
The youngest and least experienced Leicester Tigers squad of the season to date had not only recorded a win over London Irish, but managed more than 40 points against a side who were yet to face defeat in the Premiership Cup competition.
"I was really proud at the end, very proud of this young group," said Deacon.
"That's the least experienced group we have picked all season, I think there is only two guys in that side tonight that have played more than 15 games for the club.
"We got six young, young men out there making their debut as well, it's a proud night for them and the entire club."
Deacon, who has taken a more hands role during the 21/22 Cup campaign, has selected a total of 21 debutants in the competition's four games - including five players who are part of this season's Under-18 Academy squad.
Speaking about the involvement of the 'next generation' of players, Deacon added: "The competition provides a great platform for young players to experience senior, men's rugby and we have enjoyed being able to provide those opportunities this season.
"While it is a nice thing for these young guys, it is important to note that none of them would be given the chance without earning it.
"They have worked hard to be in a position to make the step up and get the privilege of representing Leicester Tigers."
Leicester Tigers finished top of Pool B, following the competition of the final round of games, seeing the club through to the semi-finals of the 21/22 Premiership Rugby Cup. Fixture information for the knockout stages will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
