Record numbers share in Group Days at Welford Road

Figure image
A record 29,000 people have shared in matchday at Welford Road this season through a Group Days experience.

And with Group Days fully booked for the final home game of the regular Aviva Premiership season, against Saracens on May 10, Leicester Tigers have set up a Priority List for groups that want to be part of a matchday occasion at Welford Road next year.

Average attendances at Welford Road are more than 22,500, including six capacity crowds of 24,000, creating an unbeatable matchday experience at the home of the ten-times English champions.

Groups can register for the Priority List now and, when next season’s fixtures are released during the summer, they will be contacted to confirm their places.

Booking on the Priority List will ensure your group does not miss out on the best day out in rugby. And we’ll also freeze tickets for the opening home game of the 2014/15 campaign at this season’s prices.

With huge demand already for a limited number of Group Day experiences, groups are encouraged to register as early as possible. Click here to get your name on the list.

Tigers have welcomed groups from across Leicestershire, the UK and overseas, including France Canada and USA, to be part of the famous Welford Road atmosphere this season.

The groups have included schools, colleges and workplaces as well as parties, reunions and celebrations and, of course, rugby clubs.

And they have enjoyed a huge range of matchday experiences, from taking on the Big Boot competition, a popular addition to the half-time entertainment among supporters at Welford Road, to forming the Guard of Honour to greet the team on to the pitch. Others have taken on the roles of shirt shakers.

Many clubs, schools and colleges have taken part in Mark Group Matchday Coaching Clinics at Welford Road, Oval Park and Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College, working on their skills with Tigers coaches before joining us for the big game at Welford Road, while others have joined us as part of a rugby tour.
