Reusable cups return to matchdays

Reusable pint cups will be reintroduced to matchdays at Mattioli Woods Welford Road from Saturday (March 4) for the Gallagher Premiership game against Bath Rugby.

The club is reintroducing reusable cups following feedback from Leicester Tigers supporters and, in collaboration with Levy, the club's catering partner, are committed to working towards more sustainable matchdays.

Additionally, for every cup returned 10p will be donated to the Leicester Tigers Foundation and their important work throughout the community.

To ensure that queues at bars and kiosks can move as quickly as possible for fans, there will be no cup deposit added to your purchase. However, to ensure the donation to the Foundation, fans must return their cups to the Cup Drop Bins located throughout the stadium.

Discussing the return of reusable cups and sustainability efforts, Leicester Tigers Head of Operations Mike Groves said: "The club and Levy have been searching for the most sustainable solution for the thousands of pint cups supporters use every matchday, and feedback from those fans indicated they much prefer a more robust cup, so we believe we have found the ideal solution."

"But, we really do need supporters to help us out with this and our efforts to be more sustainable.

"By not charging a deposit, we are making it quicker and easier for supporters to buy their drinks but we really need cups returning to our Cup Drop Bins or bars, so they can be cleaned and reused and not cost the club any extra money.

"In addition, Levy's generous donation will also go a long way to continuing the work of the Leicester Tigers Foundation."
