Rio comes to Tigers in The Park

The magic of Brazil and the Rio Carnival is coming to Tigers In The Park on Saturday as we celebrate the start of a new season and the success of British athletes at the Olympic Games this summer.

Now in its sixth year, Tigers in the Park is a free event with entertainment and activities for the whole family from 11am right up to kick-off at 3pm.

Based on Nelson Mandela Park opposite the stadium and on the plaza at Welford Road, Tigers In The Park returns bigger and better this year to kickstart a new season for Tigers at the first home game of the league campaign, against Wasps.

Our 'Olympic Park' area features tennis, archery, tag rugby and Leicester Tigers Wheelchair Rugby masterclasses and demonstrations, plus appearances from Leicester Fencing and The Gym Group. There will be opportunities for fans to join in too.

As well as the sporting activities, we’re creating our own beach in the 'Copacabana Area' with inflatable beach volleyball, surf simulator, bouncy castle, inflatable slide and obstacle course.

The 'Samba Stage' features live music from The Ellipsis, The Black Eagles, Samba band Sambando and the Original Movements Dance Group with their Rio Carnival performance plus our Battle of the Bands winners Dynamite Dynamite.

The fans’ food court is an ideal place for picnics in the park and there are further activities in the Junior Tigers Club in Final Whistle and on the plaza outside the stadium.

Match tickets for Tigers versus Wasps are still available. Book in person at Welford Road, phone 0116 319 8888 (option 2) or click here to book online and welcome the Tigers home for the start of the season! The office is open 9am-5pm Monday-Saturday, or book online any time.
