Tigers and England great Underwood became the second player to be chosen for the Walk of Legends when he won the public vote for the left-wing position. He enjoyed an illustrious career, scoring 134 tries in 236 appearances for Tigers between 1983 and 1993 and is England's leading try-scorer with 49 in 85 internationals.
Now a Tigers director, Underwood said Richards epitomises everything about the Walk of Legends.
Richards scored made 314 Tigers appearances, winning two league titles and two Pilkington Cups. He went on to become director of rugby and was in charge for Tigers' Heineken Cup wins in 2001 and 2002 and four consecutive league titles from 1999 to 2002.
Underwood said: "He had a great career with Leicester. He was a long servant to the club, both as a player and a coach, and also with England over many years. To me, he epitomises everything that makes the Walk of Legends."
