Brendon O’Connor was named the Aviva Man of the Match after the win at Saracens, which has been backed up by his statistics in the Opta Rugby Rankings.

No player in Leicester Tigers colours made more tackles, won more turnovers or made more clean breaks than the flanker, according to the official Aviva Premiership statistics.

O’Connor made 15 tackles in the game, a figure matched only by Graham Kitchener in the Tigers team. He also won two turnovers to take his total for the season to 14, and made two clean breaks.

Manu Tuilagi, the scorer of Tigers’ opening try, also made two clean breaks in an impressive showing at Allianz Park. Tuilagi also beat seven defenders and totalled 53 metres in the contest.

Telusa Veainu, another try-scorer against Sarries, made 70m from his 15 carries – only Sione Kalamafoni carried more for Tigers with 17. It took Veainu’s total for the season to 929m, the most by a Tiger and third in the Aviva Premiership.

Veainu also beat 10 defenders in the game. He is now third on that list, having beaten 52 defenders so far this season.

Kalamafoni has made more carries than any other player in the league (208) and is Tigers’ top tackler with 180.
