Summer Camps continue across county

Youngsters across Leicestershire continue to make the most of their summer holidays by taking part in Tigers Rugby Camps

Boys and girls have been taking part in Camps up and down the county throughout the summer break from school and - this week - it was Syston RUFC and Stamford School that hosted players from U7s-U16s.

Those attending were also visited by members of the Leicester Tigers squad.

Finn Carnduff and Rob Carmichael visited attendees on Wednesday to answer questions, sign autographs and pose for photographs, as well as spending time with the kids out on the pitch to see what they had learned from Tigers Community Coaches.

Places on Leicester Tigers Rugby Camps are now available throughout the summer school holidays, with more than 50 camps available across 13 locations.

Venues this summer include Holt, Lichfield, Newark, Scarborough, Sheffield Tigers, Shipston on Stour, Stafford, Leicester Forest, Market Harborough and Syston as well as Stamford School and Trent College.

Tigers Rugby Camps are aimed at girls and boys, from under-7s upwards, with the focus on skills development in a fun and physically active setting with professional coaches from the Tigers community team.

Delivery is split into four categories to provide the best possible experience throughout the age-groups:

Tag Rugby Camps provide a contact-free introduction to rugby for the under-7 and under-8 age-groups, with games and activities over three mornings to help develop fundamental movement, rugby and social skills.

Core Camps run over 4-5 full days for the under-9s to under-13s age-groups with sessions based on fun activities, rugby skills and fundamental fitness.

Development Camps sessions are for under-14, 15 and 16 players on three afternoons with a sharper focus on tactical and technical skills alongside athletic development, based on the themes of the Tigers Junior Academy and ACE college programmes.

Girls-Only Camps are suitable for all abilities in the under-13, 15 and 18 groups to develop skills, confidence and game awareness.

Places are available to book online, or phone the Tigers ticket office team on 0116 319 8888 (option 2).
