Marcos Ayerza expects a Christmas cracker of an Aviva Premiership clash when Leicester Tigers face Sale Sharks on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Welford Road is heading towards another capacity crowd for the first of two home festive fixtures for the Tigers. Bath Rugby visit on Sunday, January 5.

Ayerza returns to the front row alongside Tom Youngs and Dan Cole after being named among the replacements for last week’s trip to Saracens.

And the Argentina international said: ““Sale have shown that when they perform they are tough team to play against. They nearly beat Saracens away and have had some very good performances this season.

“It will be a big challenge from a very good Sale side and I expect a cracking game.

“Welford Road is an amazing place to play and home advantage is huge for us. Everyone is looking forward to getting back out there.

“Sale will be a huge challenge for us. They are playing some good rugby. Every game is important to us but these next two games are even more so because the points are crucial for us.

“At the moment we are sixth in the Aviva Premiership table and we don’t want to see ourselves down there. We want to be fighting out for the top spots.

“We have to win the next two games and playing at home will be a massive advantage for us.”

Saturday's match is heading towards a 24,000 sell-out. Contact the Tigers ticket office for advice on ticket availability by phoning 0844 856 1880 or call in at Welford Road.
