Savour a taste of Rio at Tigers in the Park

Tigers in the Park will have a Rio Carnival theme this year as Tigers bring a taste of the Olympics to the opening home game of the season on September 10.

Tigers kick off their home Aviva Premiership campaign against Wasps at Welford Road on Saturday, September 10 (3pm) when  Nelson Mandela Park, opposite the stadium, hosts Tigers in the Park.

The Samba Stage provides a focal point for the day with Sambando, who were visitors to Welford Road last season for the home game against Gloucester in April, among the main attractions. They will be performing their Brazilian-style street music on stage and around the stadium.
Original Hip Hop Movements, from Hinckley, will also perform at Tigers in the Park and on the pitch before kick-off, and there will be a set from local band The Ellipsis and a headline performance by acrobatic group the Black Eagles as well as a chance for a local band to join the main stage attractions.
There will also be a Copacabana Area, with a beach area, beach volleyball, a surf simulator and other inflatables and activities.
And in keeping with an Olympics year, there will be an Olympic Park where fans can try a range a of Olympics sports, including tag rugby.
