Scotland will be a huge test, says Flood

Toby Flood says Scotland will be highly dangerous opponents when the RBS 6 Nations resumes this weekend.

England are firm favourites going into Sunday’s Calcutta Cup clash at Twickenham and lead the table after winning their first three games.

Scotland, meanwhile, are searching for their first win of the Championship having lost their three games so far but Flood says that makes them a dangerous opponent.

“We know that Scotland are highly dangerous,” says Tigers and England fly-half Flood. “There’s nothing worse than coming up against a team who have lost three on the bounce for whom winning will be a catalyst for the end of their tournament. We are aware it will be a huge test.”

Flood’s form has been a major factor in England’s unbeaten Six Nations so far, particularly from the kicking tee having missed just one attempt on goal during the Championship.

“I am happy with how it is going,” says Flood, 25, who is set to win his 39th international cap against Scotland. “We work hard in the week to try to make things accurate.

“At the moment I am happy with what’s going on. For large parts of it, the guys are putting you in areas where it is easy to kick over,” Flood told the RFU Podcast.
